Request for Equipment Use

The Suraj Israni Center for Cinematic Arts provides access to select audio visual equipment in support of creative cinematic endeavors.

  2. Complete the below form in entirety to submit an equipment request. 
  3. Email surajisranicenter@ucsd.edu with any questions.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

  • WHO CAN SUBMIT A REQUEST?
    • Current UC San Diego undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty and staff
    • Priority is given to fellows of the Center and those with related Center business.
    • WHEN SHOULD I SUBMIT A REQUEST?
      • We recommend that you submit your request at least 3 weeks in advance of the date that you need the equipment.

  • WHAT EQUIPMENT CAN BE REQUESTED?
    • Please see the below drawer for a list of equipment provided by the Center.
    • Only 5 items can be borrowed at a time. If you select more than 5 items on the request, you may receive an error and be unable to submit the form.
  • HOW LONG CAN EQUIPMENT BE BORROWED FOR?
    • Equipment is typically available for one week (7 days). 
    • An extension may be requested and offered if the equipment is not scheduled for other use. Renewal/extensions should be requested via email (surajisranicenter@ucsd.edu) prior to the planned return date.
    • If equipment is available and the request is approved, the applicant and the Center will coordinate checkout and return dates at that time.
  • WHERE IS EQUIPMENT PICK-UP/DROP-OFF?
    •  Equipment pick-up and return is by appointment only in the Dean’s Office in the School of Arts and Humanities. The office is located on the 10th floor of the Arts and Humanities Building in the Ridgewalk Academic Complex in the North Torrey Pines Living and Learning Neighborhood.
  • HOW ARE EQUIPMENT ISSUES AND DAMAGES MANAGED?
    • The borrower is financially responsible for any equipment damages and may consider purchasing private Production Insurance given the considerable expense of equipment.
    • Borrowers that experience issues with the equipment and need help trouble-shooting should contact surajisranicenter@ucsd.edu.

The Suraj Israni Center for Cinematic Arts is offering the following camera kits, lenses and sound equipment for use. A maximum of 5 items may be borrowed at one time, and typical borrow time is one week.
